Two days ago, I logged on to the CreateSpace website and clicked “submit,” confirming our approval of last minute edits and formatting for “Cook Your Way Through The S.A.T.” This was a momentous event I had dreamed about for almost a year and it officially marked the end of creating, writing, and editing the book.
So far, all work on the book was electronic. Now we are waiting for a physical copy of our book (called a “proof”) to come in the mail. We will read through it to make sure there are no mistakes (if there are, we will edit them). Once we ok the proof, it should be available 3 days later on Amazon.com. It takes about six weeks until it’s on the shelves in bookstores.
Hitting the “submit” button also meant we had to start working on publicity. We are writing a press release… hope to have a story show up in some newspapers and magazines. My mom contacted Barnes And Noble to arrange book signings that I can do during Thanksgiving and winter break.
All in all, the process of creating the book was incredibly fun, interesting, challenging, and arduous. I have become as passionate about words as I am about food.
